James Craney and Josh Edelson recently filed a motion to dismiss on behalf of a defendant, in a property damage case filed in St. Clair County, Illinois. The motion raised the economic loss doctrine, and argued that the claim could not be brought under the circumstances. In order to forego a hearing, plaintiff’s counsel dismissed the matter and paid costs.
